Our Mission
PHCC of North Carolina is dedicated to the advancement and education of plumbing, heating and cooling professionals throughout the state for their growth; to protect the health, safety and comfort of our communities and protect our environment.
The fundamental purpose that drives PHCC of NC is the desire to serve its members for their benefit and growth. To fulfill that purpose, we envision being the leading resource provider for education, expertise, and business enhancement services for the plumbing, heating, and cooling contractors in North Carolina and serving as the voice of these industries on a local, state, and national level. Our service to the plumbing, heating, and cooling industries is evident as we encourage and facilitate the education, expertise, and professionalism of our contractor and associate members and the industry at large for their benefit, and for the safety and well-being of the industry and the general public.
Best People. Best Practices. ®
Our History
The current Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors of North Carolina, Inc. association began as the N.C. Master Plumbers Association in 1910, putting us at 115 years of service to NC P-H-C contractors, and going strong!
Through the years, the association continued to grow and serve the member contractors and the citizens of the Great State of North Carolina. Following the association’s 100th Anniversary in 2010, the Boards of Directors for the then-named NC Association of PHCC and the Mechanical Contractors of North Carolina met to discuss the future of these associations and how they could best serve the needs of contractors and industry associates in our state. After much discussion and decisions by the Boards, the members voted unanimously to create one new association – the North Carolina Plumbing and Mechanical Association. After 4 years under this name, the membership voted to change the name to Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors of North Carolina, Inc. to represent their proud affiliation with the PHCC-National association.
The name change was proposed and approved for the following reasons:
- To take advantage of and promote the national name recognition and affiliation with the Plumbing–Heating–Cooling Contractors National Association (PHCC-NA).
- To align state and local marketing efforts with national association marketing efforts.
- To strengthen North Carolina’s efforts in trade education implementation for young men and women entering the plumbing–heating–cooling profession.
- To educate the public in general as to the “Best People – Best Practices” of all members of the association across the state and nation.
